Selected as first
place winner for two dimensional art at 1985 Art, Crafts, and
Design Fair held in Little Rock, Arkansas
Selected as the
Arkansas winner in “the Great American Quilt Contest” in 1986
which featured the Statue of Liberty as a theme. The contest
was sponsored by The American Folk Art Museum on New York City
and the 3M Company. Winning quilts traveled throughout the
United States and overseas for a period of three years.
The Quilt titled
“Immigrants Hope” was selected to hang at Silver Dollar City
Quilt Gallery for a period of two months.
The Quilt,
“Coronado” was juried into an exhibit, The Fiber of Coronado
in 2003. The exhibit was a collaboration between Quilt San
Diego/Quilt Visions, (an international organization), and the
Coronado (California) Museum of History and Art.
“Marti Gras Cats”
was juried into Art Quilts At The Sedgwick, a 2004 Exhibit
held at the Sedgwick Cultural Center in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.
The quilt titled,
“Beyond the Panes,” was juried and selected as a winning entry
in a 2004 exhibit, Quilts: 35 years of Inspiration
Information, and Imagination, sponsored by Quilters
Newsletter Magazine. Quilters for around the world were invited
to enter. The finalists quilts were hung as a group at the
Primedia Gallery in Golden, Colorado. All finalists quilts were
on display at the 30th International Quilt Festival
in Houston, Texas.
Invitation to teach
at the Eureka Springs Art Center in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Associated artist
represented by Cox Creative Gallery managed by Central Arkansas
Library system.
Quilts have been
purchased for many personal and corporate collections.
